The wet experience gets even more exciting with Universal’s Volcano Bay. Stands tall with a unique 200 – foot Volcano, this one of a kind water park near Florida’s Interstate- 4 brings the ultimate thrill and relaxing alternative for water-park goers. Opens on 2017 summer, it features the Krakatau Aqua Coaster as the centrepiece attraction, including the TapuTapu wearable that makes the ride line virtually non-existent.
The Krakatau Aqua Coaster is not just another water-park ride adventure. It’s powered with unique LIM (Linear Induction Motor) Technology akin to the launch technology that is used in Universal’s Revenge of the Mummy attraction. Here the rider’s board a four seater canoe – shaped raft that traverse all around the epic Volcano. During the ride you go up and down the hills and valleys of the Volcano, runs along dark stretches and burst through sparkling waterfalls and much more.
What make the LIM technology so interesting? Must be the ‘magnets’ and their role in manipulating the ride vehicle. Unlike the many gravity-fed water slides, you don’t have to start at the top with Krakatau Coaster. There is neither the hazards of endless climbing, nor any giant stair tower to climb for that matter. Guests can start from just above the ground level of the Volcano. Thanks to the ‘magnets’ that make this possible. There are magnets in the tracks moving up and there are magnets fitted into the bottom of the ride vehicles as well. And thus the upward climbing is auto-enabled by sequencing the magnets at disposal.
Another most interesting aspects of Volcano Bay is its ability to make ride lines virtually non-existent. TapuTapu – the wearable technology is a perfect way to say good-bye to the inevitable lines. Guest will have ample time to do other fun stuff at the Park while the TapuTapu wristband will keep track of the ride time for them.
